Ceramic Wicks
Ceramic takes more fuel than Kevlar so the flame is bigger and burnouts are bigger. And due to more fuel, burn time is also longer. Remember that ceramic rope is a bit more fragile than Kevlar. It’s not recommended to drop it too often, but otherwise it is durable. Ceramic fiber textiles are durable, high temperature to 1260°C (2300°F).
Preparing ceramic wicks for first use: The important thing to remember with ceramic wicks is to burn once before spinning. Just soak with fuel and fire without spinning. After that ceramic wicks become strong and are ready for use.
